| NewsTitle | Potential Champions - our new Young Persons Charity |
| NewsCopy | LEAP is actively seeking funding streams to help with the Potential Champions workshops that they have piloted in the New Forest area. The dozen trial sessions have proved most successful. The workshops are aimed at teenagers to help them become valuable members of society and be the best they can be in their lives. Based on ‘Champion Behaviours’, the day delivers useful tools, through play and workshops to encourage and enable the kids to take responsibility and ‘champion’ themselves. The Chairman of the Hampshire Police Authority Simon Hayes, has seen the workshop, and made the following quote; "What is good about this project is that it shows young people that personal achievement is possible for them. After only a few hours those taking part had grown in confidence and trust, both with each other and towards the trainers. Sadly in society today, even in a perceived affluent place like the New Forest, young people often don't get the support and advice that they deserve. The success of this project show that with time and attention young people's attitudes and approaches to life can be altered for the good. I fully support this project and hope that not only will it grow across Hampshire". |
