| NewsCopy | Developing Soft skills is no longer a soft option in todays competitive society. Some 25% of a managers time is wasted to misunderstanding and unwarranted conflict whilst some 60% of performance related issues are down to poor interpersonal or soft skills, rather than a lack of hard skills - in other words, people often know what to do, but its the relationship stuff that causes a massive loss in productivity.
As one client aptly put it, 'Trying to drive your business forwards in this market place without good communication skills is like driving your car with your hands tied behind your back'. In truth we know that is a ridiculous thing to do, yet we also know that for some businesses it is true, they really are suffering from a lack of soft skills in the business which leads to all manner of issues from misunderstanding, conflict, personality clashes, lost opportunities, lost clients and business, stress, sick days and high staff turnover.
